FAQ
What is home staging?
Home staging is the process of professionally decorating and arranging a home to make it more appealing to potential buyers. This includes furniture placement, decor, and sometimes even bringing in new furnishings to highlight the home’s best features. Staging helps create an inviting atmosphere, allowing buyers to better envision themselves living in the space.

Why should I stage my home?
Staging a home can significantly increase its appeal and help it sell faster and for a higher price. A well-staged home stands out in listings, attracts more potential buyers, and makes it easier for them to visualize how they would use the space. Staging also emphasizes your home’s strengths while downplaying any flaws.

How much does home staging cost?
The cost of home staging varies depending on the size of your home, the level of staging required, and the duration of the staging. We offer different packages, from basic consultations to full-property staging. Contact us for a personalized quote based on your home’s needs.

What do you do during a consultation?
We meet to preview the space, during that time I will take measurements, photos and video and determine the aesthetic for the staging.

Do you provide a preview of what's going to be installed?
We do not due to the everchanging inventory of projects starting and completing and quick turnaround. We recommend viewing our past projects and inspiration boards to gain a sense of the Home Decor Exchange aesthetic.

How long does the staging process take?
The staging process typically takes 1–2 days, depending on the size of the property and the extent of the work needed. After an initial consultation, we schedule a staging date and handle everything from furniture placement to final touches.

Do I need to clean or make repairs before staging?
While we do not perform deep cleaning or extensive repairs, we recommend that your home be cleaned and any minor repairs (like leaky faucets or cracked tiles) be completed before staging. A well-maintained home is more likely to attract serious buyers. We can provide guidance on what may need attention before staging.

Do I have to leave my furniture in place?
It’s not always necessary to keep your existing furniture, especially if it doesn’t complement the style or flow of the space. In some cases, we will use your furniture, while in others, we may bring in rental pieces. Our goal is to ensure that the space is visually appealing and suits the tastes of potential buyers.

Will staging help if my home is vacant?
Yes! Staging is especially beneficial for vacant homes, as it gives the space a sense of warmth and livability. Empty rooms can feel cold and uninviting, but staged spaces showcase how each room can be used, making it easier for buyers to imagine themselves living there.

How soon should I stage my home before listing it?
We recommend staging your home before it goes live on the market. Staging before listing helps to maximize your home’s potential from the very first showing. If your home is already on the market and isn’t getting the attention you hoped for, staging can also help reinvigorate interest and set your listing apart from the competition.

Can staging really help sell my home faster?
Yes! Studies show that staged homes often sell faster than non-staged homes. Staging creates an emotional connection with buyers and helps them see the property in its best light, which can lead to quicker offers and fewer days on the market.

How do I get started with staging my home?
To get started, simply contact us for a consultation. We’ll assess your home, discuss your goals, and develop a customized staging plan. Once you approve the plan, we’ll schedule the staging and take care of the rest!

What happens if I need more time or want to add on more spaces after the initial agreement?
We offer month to month options at various rates. You can add on more spaces after the initial agreement; there will be a delivery and installation charge in addition to the staging fee. Contact us for more details.
